North ward is a 22-bedded female adult acute admissions ward at Fairfield General Hospital in Bury, providing short-term care for individuals with mental health issues. Our team includes Doctors, Nurses, Healthcare Support Workers, Occupational Therapists, Recovery & Inclusion Workers, and support staff committed to high-quality care for the Bury community.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide safe and effective care, treating patients as individuals and engaging them in their own care.
  2. Assist qualified staff in delivering care, ensuring safety, wellbeing, and dignity of patients.
  3. Support patients with personal care, nutrition, hydration, and participate in care planning and activities.
  4. Record clinical observations and monitor patient conditions, escalating concerns appropriately.
  5. Participate in ward environment maintenance, safeguarding, and adhere to health and safety policies.
  6. Assist with therapeutic activities and support interventions, including de-escalation and restrictive practice reduction.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members, maintaining confidentiality.
  8. Work flexibly across shifts, supporting the ward's needs and policies.
