Job summary

Healthcare Support Worker on Macmillan Renton Unit.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of a dedicated team providing cancer care at Hereford County Hospital. As a Healthcare Support Worker in the Macmillan Renton Cancer Unit, you will assist clinical teams in providing care and support to patients throughout their cancer journeys.

You will be trained in supporting breast care procedures, chaperoning, performing phlebotomy as an essential skill, and other duties required of a supporting HCA in MRU.

Main duties of the job
  1. Support the activities of the Macmillan Renton Unit (MRU) in cancer care, e.g., outpatient breast clinic.
  2. Work under the supervision of and support the Consultant, registered nurse, or Allied Health Professional, carrying out delegated nursing and non-nursing duties to promote patient-centered care.
  3. Ensure timely completion of duties to assist clinicians during clinics, aiming to provide the best patient experience, while being mindful of the impact of actions on patients.
