Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity at Linden Lodge Neuro rehabilitation which is renowned for delivering care excellence to its patients. We will support you through a healthcare assistant induction and support you to complete the national Care Certificate.
We are looking forward to meeting candidates with high standards of care and high levels of compassion who can actively demonstrate the values of team NUH.

The role will initially be based at Linden Lodge with a view to transition to the National Rehabilitation Centre upon completion.

This role will require the successful candidate to work at the New National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC), due to open in Summer 2025.

The NRC will be a new, purpose-built 70-bed facility which will be built on the Stanford Hall Rehabilitation Estate near Loughborough, delivering a centre of excellence to improve rehabilitation services in England. It is co-located with the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre and will share some of the world-class rehabilitation facilities. Thanks to an academic partnership led by the University of Nottingham and Loughborough University, research and innovation and training and education in rehabilitation will be embedded at the NRC and central to clinical practice.

We are looking for ambitious and dedicated professionals to join this journey to rehabilitation excellence, transforming outcomes for patients.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and committed Healthcare Assistants to join us at Linden Lodge. We will welcome any forward-thinking, caring individual who is committed to providing a high standard of safe, high-quality patient care.

You must display excellent communication skills and be confident to deal with members of the public and the hospital multidisciplinary team.

You will be delivering hands-on patient care within Linden Lodge which includes physical tasks and involvement in the rehabilitation process.

Qualifications
  • Good standard of numeracy and basic calculation skills to an equivalent standard of GCSE grade C or above.
  • Good standard of written and spoken English to an equivalent standard of GCSE grade C or above.
Communication and relationship skills
  • Demonstrate clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate computer literacy and use of IT skills – Microsoft (email/Excel/Word).
  • Experience with hospital IT systems – Medway, Bluespier, Notis, Nervecentre.
  • Knowledge of reception/clinic work.
Analytical and Judgement skills

If you are aged 16 or 17 and applying for a role that is more than 20 hours a week, please be aware that you will be asked to commence an Apprenticeship within the Trust alongside your role, as long as there is a suitable apprenticeship standard available. Salary

The quoted salary will be on a pro-rata basis for part-time workers.

ID and Right to Work Checks

NUH authenticate ID and right to work documentation including passports and driving licenses through a system called Trust ID. NUH will scan your ID and right to work documentation into the Trust ID system at your face-to-face ID appointment. The system will run a check against the key security features within your documentation. The system will provide us with an outcome of your check which will be stored securely on your personal file along with all other pre-employment check documentation.

Consent
  • Transfer of Information: If I have previous NHS service - I consent to the transfer of my Electronic Staff Record (ESR) data between this and other NHS Trusts. I also consent to the Occupational Health Department confidentially accessing my occupational health records from my current or previous employer in order to check the status of my vaccinations, immunisations and screening tests as relevant to the post. I understand this is an automated process and the information will only be used for these purposes prior to me taking up the position at NUH.
  • Disclosure and Barring Service: Your post may be subject to a DBS check which incurs a cost dependent on the level of check required (£42.90 for enhanced and £22.90 for standard). I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check if it is required (by deduction from the first month’s pay). Should I decide to withdraw from my job offer, I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of the DBS check undertaken by cheque or other agreed method.
