We are recruiting for a small team of support workers to work with our client who is a remarkable teenage boy that lives at home with his family. He sustained a brain injury at birth and is requiring ongoing support after school and into the evening, as well as full days during the weekend, to help him engage in activities, interests and general day to day plans.
He is very good natured and enjoys many fun activities and hobbies such as YouTube, computer games, watching drama and theatre, swimming, Marvel & DC comics, travel and also has a love of animals. However, he can become overwhelmed with making choices linked to all daily tasks, which is why we need a team of proactive and patient healthcare support workers to support our client.
His team of carers will be heavily involved with supporting in all of these amazing activities on a day to day basis, as well as supporting with education/homework, activities of daily living, social activities and providing exceptional health related support at all times. The role requires someone who is proactive, patient, has a good sense of humour, is organised, risk aware, flexible and willing to travel/road trip/go on excursions with family.
The support workers will be working as a “buddy” for our client and will be required to work collaboratively with his wider team of healthcare professionals and to support with the delivery of any person-centred therapy programmes, under specialist supervision.
We are looking for Support Workers who can deliver person centred support in line with a personalized care plan, created specifically to meet the needs of our individual client. This is a great opportunity to work with an amazing young man.
You will be fully supported by our highly skilled Nurse Managers, who are on hand to support and guide all of staff, to ensure the highest standards of care and an excellent pathway of professional development.
Due to the nature of our requirement, applicants must hold a full and valid UK driving license.
