Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 3 Healthcare support workers in Ward 3 Glenrothes Hospital. Ward 3 provides rehabilitation for the Older Person, Palliative Care Services and facilitates complex discharge planning from the Community Hospital setting.

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic HCSW who will develop skills in medicine of the elderly and work closely with all members of the multi-disciplinary team to promote a positive patient journey.
You will be joining a well established and experienced nursing team and you will demonstrate a keen interest and motivation for caring for the older person and rehabilitation.

If successful in your application, you will be offered the opportunity to undertake an SVQ2 or SVQ3 (dependent on band) in Health and Social Care, approximately 9 months after taking up post. It is expected that you complete this qualification, which will be fully funded by NHS Fife. Your Line Manager will provide you with more information once you are in post.

Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check done than is currently the case. If the post is assessed as a "regulated role", your appointment will be subject to joining the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. If there is any change to what is currently required, this will be confirmed by either the Hiring Manager or the Recruitment Team.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
