NHS Scotland is seeking a laboratory assistant for a permanent position at Forth Valley Royal Infirmary's Blood Sciences department. The role involves supporting the clinical laboratory services through specimen handling, data entry, and operating laboratory equipment. Applicants should have relevant experience and educational qualifications in English and Science.
Applicants are invited for this permanent post within the Blood Sciences department at Forth Valley Royal Infirmary. The successful candidate will support the professional clinical laboratory service.
The appointee, under supervision of qualified laboratory staff, will perform routine laboratory and administrative tasks that do not require the skills of a State Registered Biomedical Scientist, including:
Applicants should have good keyboard skills, work accurately under pressure, and demonstrate flexibility. A standard grade/national 4/5 in English and Science, along with relevant hospital laboratory experience, are required.
This position requires a Level 2 Disclosure Scotland check. Working patterns will be over 7 days, depending on service needs.
