Job summary

Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Healthcare Science Support Worker focused on Biochemistry. The role supports the HSSW team by handling reagent stock, maintaining biochemistry analysers, and processing QC samples under SOPs.

You will enter results into the LIS and assist with accreditation activities. Working with biomedical scientists and engineers, you will liaise with service users, manage phone inquiries, and contribute to quality assurance processes

Qualifications

• Experience with stock control of reagents and consumables.
• Familiar with quality control procedures and external quality assurance material.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and enter results into the laboratory information system (LIS).

The HSSW team report to the Biomedical Scientists who are responsible operationally for the Biochemistry Laboratory service. Duties include stock control of reagents, analyser maintenance, processing quality control samples and external quality assurance material. Working to standard operating procedures at all times. Performing manual testing procedures. Entering test results on to the laboratory information system Assisting with UKAS accreditation Dealing politely and effectively with phone calls.
