Job description

We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our friendly Cardiac Investigations team at Worthing Hospital as a Healthcare Science Practitioner (Cardiology), pending successful completion of Degree. We are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated applicants wanting to further their training and experience in all areas of Cardiac Physiology with a view for progression and helping to shape our workforce for the future.

To assist in delivery of a high quality Cardiac Investigations service to inpatients and outpatients of University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust – Worthing Hospital.

To include:-

  • Working towards becoming an independent Cardiac Physiologist/Healthcare Science Practitioner within a wide range of investigations including echocardiography, pacemaker, ICD and complex device interrogation and follow-up with supervision; training and assisting in PPM/ICD/CRT device implant procedures; assisting in all invasive investigations in the Cardiac Catheter Lab and assisting in providing comprehensive reports; Working towards leading in Exercise Tolerance Testing as well as undertaking Holter analysis and reporting
  • Organising and managing own workload
  • Being conversant with Cardiac Arrest protocol
  • Assisting in the supervision and training of other staff and healthcare professionals where required
