Job description

This full-time position will be available in January 2025.

SCOPE OF WORK: Coordinates Healthcare Programs with responsibility for assessing and recommending curricula, overseeing course delivery and program activities for the allied health programs at Manchester Community College (MCC). Also supports the Board of Nursing approved and allied health programs for southern New Hampshire at Great Bay Community College, Nashua Community College and NHTI, Concord’s Community College. The position reports to the MCC Workforce Development Director.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Coordinates the overall Licensed Nursing Assistant Program, Medication Nursing Assistant Program, Medical Assisting Program, and Pharmacy Technician Program, among any other allied health programs that may be added.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates curricula in accordance with standards set forth by accrediting or professional agencies, maintains and updates course/program documents and assists the WDC Director in forecasting program budget.
  • Works collaboratively with both the credit and workforce development allied health faculty for MCC, GBCC, NCC and NHTI’s staff, clinical sites, businesses and healthcare organizations, NH Board of Nursing (BON) and Excel Testing Center.
  • Manages course scheduling, recruitment, and onboarding of students into the programs, and assist the WDC Director in recruiting instructors for programs.
  • Builds tailored syllabi schedules for open enrollments and employer apprenticeship programs.
  • Builds out Canvas courses for each class.
  • Collects and maintains a full file of required paperwork on every student as dictated by the admission process detailed for each program.
  • Participates in and supports marketing strategies, cultivating relationships with business and industry in healthcare, and engaging in outreach to educational partners.
  • Performs administrative duties in support of program operations including the selection, monitoring and evaluation of clinical sites and coordination of career exploration activities. Collaborates with the clinical sites to provide guidance to supervisors, establish clinical rotations, job assignments, prepares job descriptions and monitors staff activities and daily progress, as needed.
  • Supervises student learning activities and clinical responsibilities, monitors academic and employability skills progress and maintains accurate records of student progress and accomplishments.
  • Researches and recommends additional curricula, course delivery, and program activities in the healthcare field.
  • Obtains educator approval as required for BON approved programs; prepares for and facilitates the BON program reapproval site visits.
  • Complies with all system, college, state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education : Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

Experience : Four (4) years of experience in a management or supervisory position in a healthcare facility, with a minimum of two (2) years of experience working with the elderly and/or chronically ill of any age and at least one (1) year experience providing services within a long-term care (TLTC) facility.

Additional Requirement: Must be able to successfully be approved by the Board of Nursing through the “Application for Faculty Approved Education Program” as MCC Workforce Development Center’s LNA Program Coordinator and MNA Nurse Reviewer for our programs.

License/Certification: Possession of a valid driver’s license. Possesses a current New Hampshire unencumbered registered nurse license or a multi-state RN license from another compact state.

RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Considerable knowledge of principles, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment of the careers within the allied health fields. Experience as a trainer or instructor with the ability to develop curricula/course materials, deliver training, and evaluate course materials and delivery. Ability to evaluate and analyze program effectiveness and manage resources. Knowledge of adult learning styles and various training and teaching modalities. Ability to conduct needs assessment and apply effective training solutions. Considerable knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing the nursing and allied health program and of community resources and organizations. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to write technical information. Ability to understand and interpret the functional interrelationship of policy, regulations, and procedures and to evaluate the impact on programs, service delivery, clients, and staff. Ability to detect and define problem areas and causes and to create and develop effective solutions, including the exercise of sound judgment in evaluating situations, planning action, making decisions, and setting priorities. Ability to work independently to develop new or alternative approaches to meet changing and variable conditions. Capability to use MS Office Suite applications. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
