Qualifications

• Degree or comparable experience in communications.
• Minimum three years in media relations, journalism or communications.
• Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling; translate healthcare info clearly.
• Strong relationships with journalists and media outlets.
• Curiosity about healthcare; ability to quickly build rapport with Fellows and Members.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and collaboration.
• Strong organisational skills; able to work independently in a fast-paced env.
• Knowledge of media monitoring tools and analytics platforms.
• Experience creating and posting content for social media and websites.
• Experience working with senior leaders as a trusted advisor.

Responsibilities

• Play a key role in enhancing the College's reputation as a thought leader within the healthcare sector.
• Work with the Senior Communications Manager to shape and deliver external communications strategy.
• Build relationships with key journalists and create compelling content.
• Develop an excellent understanding of the College, gathering content from 15,000 Fellows and Members.
• Strengthen external voice and raise profile in the UK and internationally.
• Turn communications priorities into action with colleagues across education, assessment, heritage and fundraising functions.
• Delivery role with influence: bring ideas, advise colleagues and office bearers, shape plans and build relationships.
