Job summary

The NHS is seeking a Facilities Assistant to join our dedicated team. You will maintain, clean, sanitize and restock areas across wards, departments, health centres, and community hubs to support outstanding patient care.

You will operate cleaning equipment, manage waste safely, and help deliver essential services with strict infection prevention and health and safety standards. This is a hands-on role in a busy healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of catering and cleaning.
• Understanding of food safety systems and procedures.
• Understanding infection control principles.
• Literate and numerate.
• NVQ or equivalent in catering and cleaning.
• Experience working in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean all surfaces using appropriate methods to remove dust and debris.
• Use electrical cleaning equipment safely.
• Replenish consumables and manage waste.
• Assist with food service and meal delivery as required.
• Ensure security and safe storage of items.
