About the opportunity

Are you passionate about customer care and delivering healthcare services? We are looking for team members who are keen to learn a new skill and play a key role in delivering our new earwax removal service to the local community.

You will undergo specialist training to understand the earwax removal process, including how to communicate with customers and use a camera to examine the ear(s). You will also complete our healthcare training programme to advise customers on their healthcare needs.

Your role will involve greeting customers, verifying their details, completing an ear health questionnaire, examining the ear(s) with a camera, and using specialist microsuction equipment to gently remove earwax and improve hearing.

Your main duties will include:
  1. Greeting customers and verifying their details
  2. Managing appointment bookings for the earwax removal service
  3. Explaining the earwax removal procedure to customers
  4. Removing earwax following current guidelines
  5. Recording accurate medical notes
  6. Maintaining service quality by following SOPs and health and safety standards
  7. Ordering and managing stock of necessary materials
  8. Collaborating with healthcare professionals (e.g., audiologists, GPs) to escalate queries and refer to other services
  9. Participating in the Healthcare Advisor Programme and supporting future pharmacy services in-store
What you’ll need to have
  • Five GCSEs or equivalent
  • Healthcare experience is desirable but not mandatory
  • Motivation to complete theoretical training
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Confidence, empathy, approachability, and sensitivity
  • Comfortable using a smartphone and digitally savvy
  • A passion for customer care and healthcare
  • Willingness to undertake healthcare training at NVQ2 level or equivalent
