A healthcare organization in the UK seeks a full-time Chaplain to respond to the spiritual needs of patients and staff. The role includes managing duties and supervising volunteers, requiring prior NHS experience and pastoral qualifications. Main Purpose of the Job:
· To work within the multi-faith chaplaincy and spiritual care team, responding to the spiritual, religious, cultural, and pastoral needs of all patients, visitors, and staff.
· To participate in the provision of 24-hour chaplaincy service and be flexible to meet on-call requirements.
· To assist in managing the service and deputise for the Chaplaincy Manager in their absence.
· To work in an integrated manner, balancing management responsibilities, clinical pastoral work, education, committee participation, emergency response, and adherence to Spiritual Care Standards as per the College of Healthcare Chaplains and UK Board of Healthcare Chaplains.
· To be an ordained or accredited minister endorsed by Churches Together in England, with pastoral experience, and eligible to work towards UKBHC registration.
· To share our commitment to delivering a safe, clean, personal service, uphold Trust values, and support our team of staff and volunteers in providing high-quality spiritual care.
· This is a full-time position, potentially job share, including participation in a shared on-call rota, requiring travel to the hospital within an hour.
· Previous healthcare chaplaincy and NHS experience are essential.
· Responsibilities include ward visits, leading services/rituals, supervising chaplains and volunteers, and providing spiritual care in critical and high dependency areas.
· To support the Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care Manager in departmental management and development.
· The role is suited for motivated, knowledgeable, compassionate, diplomatic, and creative individuals capable of addressing cultural and spiritual issues in health and care settings.
