Job description
Overview

Chaplains share in the provision of 24-hour on-call cover; assessing and providing pastoral, spiritual, and religious care at the point of need. This includes scheduled interactions, crisis situations, and responding to emergency calls as part of this role. It also includes delivering training, supervising volunteers, supporting the professional development of Healthcare Chaplaincy at NUH and working collaboratively with the wider team of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Provide pastoral, spiritual, and religious care at the point of need for patients, visitors, and staff as part of 24-hour on-call cover.
  • Deliver training and supervise volunteers; support the professional development of Healthcare Chaplaincy at NUH.
  • Collaborate with the wider team of healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Accredited or Licensed with authority to practice as a religion or belief leader/representative and/or pastoral worker in line with NHS chaplaincy guidelines for NHS managers on pastoral, spiritual and religious care.
  • Experienced and proficient spiritual care practitioner with a person-centred approach, active listening, and high-level interpersonal skills in support of patients, visitors, and staff.
