Job summary

A health care organization is seeking Healthcare Assistants for part-time roles at Tuarangi Home in Ashburton. In this role, you will assist nursing staff and work within a multidisciplinary team to provide quality patient care. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and have a willingness to work flexible shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and nights. Experience with dementia care and a relevant health certificate are beneficial but not mandatory.

  • Knowledge and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Previous experience with dementia care is advantageous.
  • Willingness to work towards a health and wellbeing certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Assist nursing staff with patient care while maintaining safety and cleanliness.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Be flexible with shift timings as required.

About the Role

Healthcare Assistants are instrumental in providing care toour patients, and we currently have a part time vacancy based in Tuarangi Homein Ashburton.

As a Healthcare Assistant you will assist nursing staff withpatient cares whilst maintaining a safe and clean work environment. You willenjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team, have excellent interpersonaland organisational skills, a high level of confidentiality and the ability towork well under pressure.

This role is primarily based in Tuarangi Home, however attimes you may be required to work in some of the other wards at AshburtonHospital.

  • TuarangiHome is a Residential Care facility (close to the main Ashburton Hospital)that provides hospital level and dementia care at both rest home andhospital levels.
  • AshburtonHospital provides a range of Inpatient health services;both acute,and assessment treatment and rehabilitation.

Hours:

  • Morning - 0645 to 1515 or varying short shifts within these hours
  • Afternoons - 1430 to 2300 orvarying short shifts within these hours
  • Nights -2240 to 0710

Skills and Experience

  • Excellentinterpersonal skills and team work
  • Knowledgeof and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Previousexperience working with people with dementia is advantageous, but notessential
  • Acertificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3 or 4) or a willingness towork towards one
