Healthcare Assistant - Wyre Forest Health Partnership

We are not able to provide visa sponsorship for this role.

This is a 30-hour-per-week role.

Your main responsibility will be to cover HCA services across Wyre Forest Health Partnership (WFHP), providing a professional and patient-friendly service as required. This mobile role offers variety and will provide HCA clinics at any of WFHP's five sites: Bewdley Medical Centre, Church Street Surgery, Kidderminster Medical Centre, Stourport Medical Centre, or Hagley Surgery. Travel expenses between sites are reimbursed by the Partnership.

Main duties of the job

Please Note: We are not able to provide visa sponsorship for this role.

To support the Doctors and practice nursing team in the delivery of health care services, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population.

  • ECG recording
  • Injections to includeInfluenza, Pneumococcal, Vitamin B12, Shingles
  • Processing andmanagement of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses
  • Vaccine/cold chainstorage, monitoring and recording
  • Preparing andmaintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient careinterventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operationswhere applicable

Job responsibilities

As an HCA, youll work closely with our clinical team to deliver key aspects of patient care, following clear protocols and supported by a strong and experienced team. This is a role where your attention to detail and can-do attitude will directly improve the lives of thousands of patients.

What you'll be doing:

Carrying out blood pressure checks, ECGs, NHS Health Checks and long-term condition reviews

Providing phlebotomy clinics and vaccinations (where qualified)

Supporting wound care through dressings and follow-up care

Playing a vital role in the smooth running of clinics across our five modern, well-equipped sites

Someone who is practical, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical setting

A team player who takes pride in doing things right, with strong communication skills and a professional attitude

Experience is great, but were also open to developing the right person with the right mindset

Knowledge and experience
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to record accurate clinical notes.
  • Wound care and dressings.
Qualifications
  • Educated to GCSE level 4 / C (or equivalent), including Maths and English.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office / Teams.
Experience
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience of working in General Practice.
  • Previous experience of working within a similar role in GP Surgery/ Primary Care setting.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office / Teams.
  • EMIS.
