Overview
We are looking for a committed and empathetic Healthcare Assistant to become part of our community team in West Kent / Maidstone Area, delivering comprehensive, person-centred end-of-life care and support for individuals within their own homes. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and assisting with the maintenance of patients' skin integrity and personal hygiene, observing and supporting nutritional needs, attending to comfort requirements to facilitate rest and sleep, providing mobility support, and maintaining a clean and orderly care environment. As a Healthcare Assistant you will practice empathetic communication with the patient and those important to them in a supportive, professional manner and provide high quality personal care and support to enhance wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assist with maintenance of patients' skin integrity and personal hygiene.
- Observe and support nutritional needs.
- Attend to comfort requirements to facilitate rest and sleep.
- Provide mobility support and maintain a clean and orderly care environment.
- Communicate empathetically with the patient and those important to them in a supportive, professional manner.
- Provide high quality personal care and support to enhance wellbeing.
Qualifications
- At least six months of recent experience providing care in a Health or Social Care Environment, including caring for patients at the end of life.
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (preferred, not required).
- Be person-centred and compassionate when caring for the person and those important to them.
- Ability to develop and evaluate care management plans that meet the complex needs of the person, and those important to them.
- Emotional resilience and the capacity to work independently.
- A valid driving license and access to a car for travel to patient homes are required.
