Job summary

Kings Park Hospital in Stirling, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join its ward team on a bank basis. You will supplement staffing during busy periods and cover for holidays or absence, supporting patients with hygiene, mobility, nutrition, observations, and basic clinical tasks.

Applicants should have prior care experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to follow instructions. NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care is desirable.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a care or health support role
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude
• Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns appropriately
• Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills
• Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks
• Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs, respecting their preferences and dignity.
• Help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, including documenting intake where appropriate.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives, creating a caring and safe environment.
• Carry out and accurately record routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels (after appropriate training).
• Support basic clinical procedures, including wound care setup, assisting with catheter care, pressure area prevention, and mobility aids.
• Prepare and maintain clinical areas, including trolleys, beds, and equipment in readiness for patient use.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapists, and admin teams to support safe and efficient patient care

Salary: Up to £13.30 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff on the hospital Wards.

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties of this role include:
