Job summary

The Meriden Hospital in Coventry, part of Circle Health Group, is hiring a Healthcare Assistant for the Pre Assessment department. This full-time, 37.5-hour-per-week role offers a permanent contract with a salary up to £25,500, depending on experience, training and qualifications.

You will assist patients with personal care, support meals, record vital observations and follow infection control protocols, while documenting care accurately. A flexible shift pattern is required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a care or health support role.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
• Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs, respecting their preferences and dignity.
• Help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, including documenting intake where appropriate.
• Carry out and accurately record routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels (after appropriate training).
• Report any concerns about a patient's condition or wellbeing promptly to the Registered Nurse or relevant clinician.
• Record care provided and patient observations clearly and accurately on appropriate documentation systems or electronic health records.
• Follow all infection prevention and control procedures, including hand hygiene, PPE use, and environmental cleaning standards.

We have an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff in thePre Assessment department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs, respecting their preferences and dignity.
• Help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, including documenting intake where appropriate.
