The Role:

The post-holder will work under the remit of the specialist nurses, working within the clinic. Main duties are working with the nursing team to support patients on their fertility journey from assisting with initial investigations right through to being present at events following treatments.
Other tasks include a wide range of administrative skills to book patients in for treatment, generating treatment plans and ensuring all documentation is complete ensuring regulatory requirements are met. This role is also a very practical role requiring a dynamic individual who is competent to assist with procedures throughout that journey to include theatre running, phlebotomy and many more tasks.

This is a permanent part time position working 30 hours per week

The hours will be Monday to Friday - 6 hours per day

Weekends will be required on rotation of 1:4

The Location:

Belfast Fertility was established in 2013 and is Northern Ireland’s longest standing private IVF clinic. Due to the passion, expertise and reputation of our team, Belfast Fertility has grown and now performs approximately 500 fresh cycles and 400 frozen cycles per year. We offer a full suite of treatment and diagnostic services, including PGT. Conveniently located in a business park setting on the outskirts of Belfast, adjacent to J1 of the M2, there is ample free parking for staff & patients at the front of the building. Our state-of-the-art laboratory was purpose built in 2013 and is equipped with the latest equipment and monitoring systems that support us in achieving excellent outcome KPI’s. Belfast Fertility was awarded Northern Irelands Fertility Clinic of the Year 2022 at the prestigious GHP Healthcare and Pharma awards and has a 5/5 inspection rating from the HFEA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible and accountable for the delivery of high quality care to meet the needs of the patients.
  • Under direction, you will develop skills in the instruction, advice and care of couples throughout their treatment process. This involves clinical, theatre and recovery roles.
  • Phlebotomy.
  • Patient contact - in person, on the telephone and via email.
  • Complete patient and group paperwork on time and with accuracy.
  • Assisting in theatre and recovery.
  • Other duties as instructed by your line manager.
  • Administration for management of patient treatment cycles and to assist nursing staff as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant.
  • IT literate.
  • Interest in Women’s Health.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Previous experience in Fertility Clinic or Outpatients department desirable.
  • Phlebotomy skills desirable.

Salary: Competitive (Depending on experience)

Working Hours:30

Monday to Friday

6 hour shifts - Start times will vary between 07.30 - 09.30

Occasional weekend working required at approximately 1:4
