Healthcare Assistant - Outpatients & Pre-Assessment (Bank)

£12.33 per hour

This role offers the opportunity to work across various specialties, broadening your skills and experience.

As a Healthcare Assistant in Outpatients/Pre-Assessment, you should have relevant experience, excellent communication skills, and a flexible approach. Patience, attention to detail, IT literacy, and a team-oriented mindset are essential. NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualifications and experience in an acute hospital or care setting are preferred.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting departments such as Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, ENT, Cardiology, GP Services, Ophthalmics, and Dermatology.
  • Providing patient-centered care and support.
  • Managing clinical activities and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Ensuring smooth operation of clinics.
  • Assisting with procedures like dressings and wound care.
  • Conducting pre-assessment tasks for planned surgeries, both face-to-face and over the phone.
