Summary

The healthcare assistant/carer driver is responsible for developing, maintaining, and providing professional and efficient care services to users, in accordance with legal standards and best practices. Under the supervision of the Senior Carer/Care Coordinator, the healthcare assistant must adhere to all rules, regulations, and standards. The role involves a variety of tasks beyond daily care, including:

Providing person-centred care tailored to each user, helping them preserve their abilities and interests.

Participating in periodic training to maintain and enhance skills.

Providing care and support by visiting clients’ homes.

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Ensure that service users’ preferences and desires are prioritized to improve their well-being;
• Assist service users in daily activities to promote comfort;
• Perform responsibilities with dedication, honesty, and care;
• Follow care plans and guidelines for service users;
• Report any changes in service users’ needs to the manager and care coordinator;
• Uphold company principles and comply with internal and legal regulations;
• Build positive working relationships with colleagues;
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to optimize outcomes;
• Administer medication and manage diabetes treatment (insulin administration and blood glucose monitoring);
• Support service users with daily tasks such as washing, eating, dressing, grooming, toileting, and caring for stomas or catheters, as per care plans;
• Manage behavior and handle equipment like hoists; inform family members of any issues or changes.
