Main duties of the jobThe post holder will provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. This role is based at our Duchess of Devonshire Wing in Marylebone, which is home to our specialist cancer services and purpose-built inpatient unit. Your role will involve supporting patients with activities of daily living such as hygiene, mobility and nutrition, as well as assisting with essential clinical procedures in a safe and sensitive manner. This will include involvement with recording vital signs such as observations, pressure area care, oral care, catheter care, wound care and monitoring intravenous access devices, upholding infection control and safeguarding standards. Caring for people with a cancer diagnosis, some of whom may be dealing with complex disease or indeed terminal illness requires constant provision of skilled emotional support.
