Cornerstone Healthcare is seeking an experienced and passionate Healthcare Assistant to join our award-winning team at South Africa Lodge. South Africa Lodge is a 99-bed service providing high-quality care across 6 specialised units, supporting residents with complex needs and offering a comfortable, safe living environment. Our approach focuses on individualised care, considering the whole person and their unique challenges, rather than just the diagnosis. We are currently rated GOOD with CQC.

What do you need?

• Minimum of 1 year’s experience working in care (essential)
• Experience working with adults with complex needs, including challenging behaviours and mental health issues
• Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, residents, and their families
• A caring and empathetic approach to residents and visitors
• Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)

What hours will you work?

• Total average of 38.5 hours per week

What will you be doing?

• Supporting all aspects of daily living, including personal care, mealtimes, and social activities
• Observing resident progress and reporting changes in their condition or care needs
• Helping residents remain as independent as possible
• Respecting residents’ rights to privacy, dignity, and choice
• Communicating effectively with team members

About Us

Cornerstone Healthcare provides specialist care for vulnerable individuals with challenging behaviours related to neurodegenerative and mental health conditions.

Our residents primarily have neurological degenerative conditions such as Dementia, combined with mental health issues, making them unsuitable for standard dementia or elderly residential care homes.

We operate three services in Waterlooville, Curdridge, and Mytchett, with two new locations opening in Bristol and Birmingham in 2025.
