Bilsthorpe Surgery is seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our GP practice team in Nottinghamshire. You will provide high-quality clinical and administrative support to patients and staff, assisting with minor procedures, phlebotomy and health checks.
The role requires travel between Bilsthorpe Surgery and other Nottinghamshire sites, with strong communication and organisational abilities and the ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
We are seeking an experienced, motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly and supportive practice team.
The successful candidate will be primarily based at Bilsthorpe Surgery, providing high-quality clinical and administrative support to patients and the wider practice team. The role will predominantly involve supporting minor operations and clinical procedures, alongside delivering routine Healthcare Assistant duties, including phlebotomy, NHS Health Checks and other patient care responsibilities.
As part of our wider network within the Nottinghamshire Dermatology Service, the post holder will also be expected to travel to other sites across Nottinghamshire when required to support and assist with minor surgery clinics. Flexibility and the ability to work effectively across different locations are therefore essential.
The successful candidate will have previous experience working within a GP practice, primary care or NHS healthcare setting and will demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. They will be confident working independently whilst also working collaboratively with GPs, nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to further develop their skills within a busy primary care environment and play a key role in delivering safe, effective and patient-centred care across our practices.
We are a two-partner GMS (General Medical Services) teaching practice with a steadily growing patient list of approximately 4,370 patients. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent clinical care with a strong ethos of service to our local community. This commitment is reflected in consistently high QOF achievement, a low level of complaints, and regular positive feedback from patients. We were rated GOOD in all areas at our most recent CQC inspection (08.06.22).
In addition, we also deliver the Nottinghamshire Community Dermatology Service. The service is commissioned by the local Integrated Care Board and is currently expanding further into Nottinghamshire. The dermatology service operates from within our GP surgery and provides high-quality, community-based specialist care.
We are also a recognised teaching practice, supporting medical students from the University of Nottingham, PA students from Sheffield Hallam University, and De Montfort University, Leicester. Personal development and ongoing training for the entire practice team remain a longstanding priority.
