Job summary

Locums First is seeking Locum Healthcare Assistants to work across Millom's primary care services. The role involves routine patient observations, assisting in treatment rooms, and supporting clinicians to ensure smooth clinic flow.

Flexibility is key with shifts across weekdays, evenings, and weekends, including regular or ad-hoc bookings. DBS enhanced is required and experience in NHS or community settings is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience as HCA in primary care, community or NHS settings preferred.
• Phlebotomy skills desirable.
• Ability to perform clinical observations confidently.
• Enhanced DBS is expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine patient observations (BP, pulse, temperature).
• Assist in treatment room procedures under clinical supervision.
• Conduct ECGs and basic health checks.
• Support phlebotomy if trained.
• Provide lifestyle advice and patient education.

Requirements

• Previous HCA experience in primary care, community or NHS settings
• Phlebotomy skills desirable
• Ability to perform clinical observations confidently
• Good communication and patient interaction skills
• Adaptability across different primary care environments
