Job summary

Locums First is seeking Locum Healthcare Assistants to cover flexible sessions in Knottingley and surrounding primary care settings. You will support clinics, perform routine observations and assist in treatment rooms with clinical supervision.

Ideal candidates have HCA experience in primary care or NHS environments, with a willingness to learn phlebotomy and deliver confident patient interactions. DBS checked candidates are preferred.

Qualifications

• HCA experience in primary care, community or NHS settings required or desirable.
• Phlebotomy skills are desirable.
• Strong communication and patient interaction skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine patient observations (BP, pulse, temperature).
• Support treatment room procedures under supervision.
• Conduct ECGs and basic health checks.
• Assist with phlebotomy if trained.
• Provide lifestyle advice and basic patient education.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Support clinicians with general duties as needed.

Requirements
