Job summary

Locums First is seeking Locum Healthcare Assistants to work in Eye and surrounding areas. This flexible role covers community clinics, GP surgeries and wider primary care services, allowing you to choose shifts that fit your availability.

You will support patient assessments, perform routine clinical tasks, record notes and assist nurses and GPs. DBS required; phlebotomy beneficial; experience in NHS or primary care preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience working as an HCA in primary care, community or NHS settings.
• Phlebotomy skills beneficial.
• Enhanced DBS completed or in process.
• Confident in carrying out standardised clinical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic patient observations including BP, pulse and temperature.
• Support routine treatment room procedures.
• Carry out ECGs and basic health checks.
• Perform phlebotomy if trained.
• Assist with patient education and lifestyle advice.
• Update clinical notes accurately in service systems.
• Provide general clinical support to nurses and GPs.
