Job summary

Locums First is seeking Locum Healthcare Assistants to support primary care teams in Butetown across community clinics, GP surgeries and other primary care settings. You will help with patient assessments, routine clinical tasks, and keep clinics running smoothly with clear documentation.

This sessional, flexible role lets you pick shifts that match your experience and weekly availability, including ad-hoc or regular bookings, while maintaining patient care standards.

Qualifications

• Experience working as an HCA in primary care, community or NHS settings.
• Phlebotomy skills beneficial.
• Confident in carrying out standardised clinical tasks.
• Strong communication and time-management abilities.
• Comfortable adapting to new clinical environments.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conducting basic patient observations including BP, pulse and temperature
• Supporting routine treatment room procedures
• Carrying out ECGs and basic health checks
• Performing phlebotomy if trained
• Assisting with patient education and lifestyle advice
• Updating clinical notes accurately in service systems
• Providing general clinical support to nurses and GPs
