Job summary

A community healthcare provider in Gosport is seeking a compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join their team. In this role, you will provide end-of-life care and support to patients in their homes. Responsibilities include assisting with personal hygiene, supporting mobility, and communicating empathetically with patients and their families. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our community team in Hampshire and work towards providing holistic, person centred, end of life care and support needs of people in their own homes.

Main duties of the job

Your responsibilities will include monitoring and assisting with the maintenance of patients' skin integrity and personal hygiene, observing and supporting nutritional needs, attending to comfort requirements to facilitate rest and sleep, providing mobility support, and maintaining a clean and orderly care environment.

As a Healthcare Assistant you will practice empathetic communication with the patient and those important to them in a supportive, professional manner and provide high quality personal care and support to enhance wellbeing.

Job responsibilities

As aHealthcare Assistant you will practice empathetic communication with thepatient and those important to them in a supportive, professional manner andprovide high quality personal care and support to enhance wellbeing.

Contract: Permanent, available as full-time or reducedhours; multiple openings

Work Schedule: Day shifts: Six hours,Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays

Shift hours: 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Based:Community Based - Hampshire

Whatwere looking for:

• At least six months of recent experience providingcare in a Health or Social Care Environment, including caring for patients atthe end of life.
• NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent(preferred, not required).
• Be person-centred and compassionatewhen caring for the person and those important to them.
• Ability to develop and evaluate caremanagement plans that meet the complex needs of the person, and those importantto them.
• Emotionalresilience and the capacity to work independently.
• Avalid driving license and access to a car for travel to patient homes arerequired.
