We're looking for dedicated and experienced Healthcare Assistants to provide comprehensive care and support for a man in his 30s with a spinal cord injury. This role is part of a complex care package and offers the opportunity to work with an easy-going, happy, and engaging individual who enjoys discussing a wide range of topics, including cryptocurrency and stocks, and spending time with his 2-year-old son. He also has a keen interest in painting.
Ideally, we are looking for someone with previous experience supporting patients with spinal cord injuries. A minimum of 6 months experience as a care assistant is required.

The ideal care assistant will be flexible, calm, and chatty, allowing the individual to maintain his independence while being readily available to assist when called upon.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Healthcare Assistant, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Assistance with mobility, including getting in and out of bed and moving around.
Help with personal care tasks like bathing, dressing, and toileting.
Support with medication management, including Penicillin.
Meal preparation and essential household chores.
Support with physiotherapy and rehabilitation exercises.
Monitoring for and preventing pressure sores, including assisting with repositioning for current grade 4 pressure sores.
Managing bladder and bowel function.
Tracheostomy care and management: This includes routine and emergency tracheostomy tube changes, tracheal suctioning, and ventilation via tracheostomy.
Respiratory Support: Operating a cough assist machine and managing humidification.
Pain Management: The client suffers from pain in his limbs, and support with this will be required.
Ventilator Care: Daily cleaning of the ventilator.
Autonomic Dysreflexia and Asthma Management: Understanding and responding to these conditions.
This healthcare assistant role requires a high level of vigilance and competence in managing complex medical needs.
The individual has no motor or sensory function below his injury.

Mainly nights from Monday to Sunday.
Day shifts on Saturdays and Sundays.
12-hour shifts.
Travel to Corby is required.
