Job summary

Cornerstone Healthcare Group is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join the South Africa Lodge team in Waterlooville. You’ll provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents with complex needs and support daily living activities in a welcoming home environment.

With opportunities to develop professionally, you’ll work a day pattern of 07:45–19:45, averaging 38.5 hours per week, and benefit from a comprehensive benefits package and bonus opportunities. UK-based applicants only.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year’s experience in a UK care home for residents with dementia, mental health, elderly or complex needs.
• Empathy, warmth, and commitment to patient dignity and independence.
• Willingness to undertake training and continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living activities including personal care and mealtimes for residents.
• Promote independence, choice, and dignity in every interaction.
• Observe changes in health and wellbeing and report to the care team.

• At least 1 year's experience working in a care home supporting residents with dementia, mental health, elderly or complex care needs in the UK (essential)
• A genuine passion for helping others and promoting dignity and independence
• Emotional resilience and a steady head in challenging situations
• A positive team-focused attitude
• A caring, reliable, and positive attitude
• Willingness to undertake training and continuous professional development
• NVQ Level 2 or working towards it (desirable)

Your Working Pattern

• Day shift: 07:45 - 19:45
• Average: 38.5 hours per week

You’ll Be Doing

No two days are quite the same as a Healthcare Assistant, but your main responsibilities will include:

• Support all aspects of daily living including personal care, mealtimes, and social activities
• Promote independence, choice, and dignity in every interaction
• Observe and report on changes in residents' health and well-being
• Collaborate with your team to ensure exceptional, person-centred care
• Communicate openly and respectfully with colleagues, residents, and their loved ones
