A healthcare service provider in Gravesend seeks a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to support registered nurses in delivering care to patients with complex needs. Responsibilities include assisting in patient care, taking observations, and contributing to the wellbeing of patients. Candidates should have NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent and strong communication skills. This full-time role offers a salary of £23,100 and various benefits.
As a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant, you will be an integral member of the multidisciplinary team on the Ward, providing high-quality support to the registered nurses in delivering care to a range of complex patients. You will work with increasing autonomy under the guidance of senior staff and contribute to the ongoing care and well-being of inpatients.
Your role will involve assisting in the care of patients with diverse and sometimes complex healthcare needs, including those with life-limiting conditions, patients at the end of life, and individuals requiring support to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions or enable a swift discharge. You will play a key part in ensuring these patients receive the appropriate care and support to meet their clinical needs, helping to manage their physical and emotional well-being.
In this role, you will take on responsibilities such as contributing to clinical tasks like taking observations, assisting in the preparation and monitoring of treatment plans, and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of patient care. You will be expected to show initiative, use your growing clinical knowledge, and support the Ward team in the day-to-day care of patients.
The position is full-time (37.5 hours per week) based at Gravesham Community Hospital, where our services continue to evolve to meet the diverse needs of our local population.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organization skills, with the ability to recognize their own abilities and work within their sphere of competence. We are looking for someone friendly, approachable, a team player who can work flexibly and ensure positive experiences for patients at every stage of their healthcare journey. An NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting is required.
Experience dealing with the general public within a healthcare setting is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
