Job summary

A healthcare services provider is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to work with nursing and therapy staff in providing patient care and rehabilitation for stroke patients. You will assist physiotherapists in restoring functional abilities and support occupational therapists to help patients regain independence with daily activities. Strong communication and documentation skills are essential for this role.

Job description

Healthcare Assistant - Community Stroke Service

Work with nursing and therapy staff to provide stroke patient care and rehabilitation to enable them to achieve their best potential. Under the direction of a physiotherapist assist in restoring a patients functional abilities with transfers and walking, improving balance and managing muscle tone, applying treatment modalities such as Functional Electrical Stimulation and applying orthotics. Under the direction of the Occupational Therapist support the patient to regain independence with washing and dressing, preparing meals and therapy which develops perceptual and cognitive function. You will support with some admin and write contemporaneous documentation for each visit. There may be some visit planning to do as well.
