Job description

We have a vacancy for a full-time, Band 3, Healthcare Assistant in the Community Peritoneal Dialysis department at Salford Royal Hospital.

You will provide care and support to patients within the hospital and community setting regarding all aspects of Community Peritoneal Dialysis. You will be supported within the role with on-going training, which includes the renal foundation programme.

As per Agenda for Change, if you are new to the NHS, your starting salary would be £24,937 (minimum Band 3 salary point from 1st April 2025 in line with National Living Wage requirements). This salary point is below the new minimum threshold and therefore not eligible for sponsorship.

Responsibilities and Requirements

You will possess an NVQ level 3 in health and social care or equivalent with at least 2 years' experience in the NHS or equivalent health care setting. Renal experience with some knowledge of dialysis is desirable. Excellent communication, confidence, and compassion are essential along with interpersonal and IT skills.

You must have a full driver's license and access to a roadworthy car. Business insurance is required.

About the Department

Salford Royal Foundation Trust is a tertiary centre for Renal patients, serving the West of Greater Manchester with inpatient, outpatient, and in-centre hemodialysis. You will be providing care for patients and families on peritoneal dialysis at home and in hospital across the west sector of Greater Manchester.

We also have teams supporting community peritoneal and home haemodialysis as well as Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) management on site.
