Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of older adults? Do you have a heart for supporting patients living with dementia? If so, we'd love to hear from you. At Tameside Hospital, our Care of the Elderly wards are dedicated to providing compassionate, person-centred care to some of our most vulnerable patients. We're looking for enthusiastic and empathetic Healthcare Assistants to join our multidisciplinary team and help us deliver outstanding care every day.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide hands-on personal care and emotional support to elderly patients, including those living with dementia
  • Assist with daily activities such as washing, dressing, eating, and mobility
  • Engage patients in meaningful conversation and activities to promote wellbeing

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working within the ward/department setting, providing high quality, caring, compassionate and personal care to patients and their families/carers
  • Working under the direction of the Registered Healthcare Professionals and senior colleagues, both independently and as part of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Ensuring a high standard of service provision within ward/department, by practicing effective clinical and administrative preparation, effective communication and care delivery, prioritising workload appropriately and contributing to service improvements
  • Participating in giving compassionate high quality personal care to patients prioritising appropriately and developing competencies that safeguard practice
  • Acting always in a manner, which illustrates respect for privacy, dignity, equality, diversity, and confidentiality
