Job description

Job summary

Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to offer opportunities for experienced Healthcare Assistants at Bodmin CATU/SDEC Unit.

Bodmin Community Assessment and Treatment Unit has 22 beds providing hospital care for elderly patients and those needing rehabilitation after surgery or illness. The unit also has a day case bed for patients not requiring an overnight stay.

Same day emergency care (SDEC) is part of the NHS's efforts to provide timely, appropriate care, reducing waiting times and hospital admissions where suitable.

Full-time, permanent contract with night duties from 19:30-08:00 and long days from 07:30-20:00 on a rotational basis, supporting 24-hour nursing care, 7 days a week.

Main duties of the job
  1. Assist in delivering clinical care planned and assessed by Registered Nurses.
  2. Carry out care and other duties under indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Senior Healthcare Assistant.
  3. Support day-to-day care for all patients in the clinical area, respecting individual needs, wishes, rights, and beliefs.
  4. Contribute to resource management within the clinical area.
