Gateway Recovery Centre in Widnes is hiring a Healthcare Assistant to support people with mental health needs. You’ll work as part of a friendly team, delivering compassionate care and updating records to help patients progress on their recovery pathway.

The role requires resilience, a positive attitude and the ability to accompany individuals into the community for independence development. Shift pattern is 12.5 hours, 3–4 days a week including nights and weekends.

What you will be doing:

You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with Mental Health conditions, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recover pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life. Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene. It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better. The shift pattern is 12.5 hours a day, 3-4 days a week including nights and weekends. It will be essential to have local knowledge of the Widnes as you will be accompanying the individuals we support into the community to help them develop self-assurance and independence.

Location: Bennett’s Lane, Widnes, Warrington, WA8 0GT

You will be working at the Gateway Recovery Centre, a state‑of‑the‑art facility, providing care for people with complex Mental Health requirements to reduce risk behaviours associated with Mental Health conditions so that people in your care can ultimately live successful and fulfilling lives within the community.
