Stockport NHS Trust seeks a Senior Healthcare Assistant to support nursing teams in delivering high quality, patient-centred care. The day case unit operates Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 9:00 pm and cares for patients across general surgery, urology, gynaecology, orthopaedics, ENT and Maxillofacial.
You will assist with patient care before theatre, care for patients post operatively, perform post-operative observations and ensure safety, cleanliness and documentation.
The Senior Healthcare Assistant role is key to ensuring that our nursing teams are supported to deliver consistently, high quality, patient centred care. The day case unit is open Monday to Friday, 7AM till 9PM. The unit cares for patients from all specialities including general surgery, urology, gynaecology, orthopaedics, ENT and Max fax. You will be expected to support staff to ensure patients are prepared for theatre. You will help care for patients post operatively, carrying out post operative observations and meeting patients needs., As a healthcare Assistant you will be expected to work within our dedicated multi-disciplinary teams and be involved in providing individualised care whilst contributing to the safety and cleanliness of the environment and keeping good documentation. Experience of supporting Quality Improvement /audits / research and development activities
The role would include working alongside a multidisciplinary team, providing high quality, patient centred care to a wide range of patients. The successful candidate would need to be motivated, organised and possess outstanding communication skills. Candidates should enjoy working in a team environment, work well under pressure and have a flexible approach to work.
