An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Older People and Adult Community (OPAC) Intermediate Care Unit based in Peterborough.
The Intermediate Care Unit is currently a 34-bedded inpatient rehabilitation unit.
Our unit is a joint Nurse/Therapy led facility with visiting Consultants and daily GP support. We provide short-term rehabilitation for individuals aged 18 and above who experience changes in their physical health due to exacerbation of pre-existing conditions, general deterioration, or acute causes.
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will make a positive impact on people's lives. This person-centred role involves forming professional relationships with service users and patients, supporting their personal, physical, and mental wellbeing, and improving their lives under the supervision of a registered practitioner.
Main duties include delivering direct patient care in accordance with Trust policies and procedures, and being responsive and respectful to patients, their families, and colleagues.
You will observe and report any changes indicating alterations in patients' wellbeing and safety, including clinical observations. It is important to be aware of your limitations and seek support when needed.
You will provide personal care to patients as required, demonstrating empathy, dignity, respect, and compassion at all times.
You will work as an active team member, collaborating with patients, families, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
