Job summary

Frances Bolitho Care Home in Penzance is seeking caring Healthcare Assistants for night shifts. Training is provided from day one, with opportunities to develop into an Enhanced Healthcare Assistant under supervision of Team Leads and Care Coordinators.

The role focuses on person-centred care, building relationships with residents, and delivering high-quality support. A supportive team environment and progression opportunities are offered.

For those with previous care experience who are ready for greater responsibility, we'll support you to develop into an Enhanced Healthcare Assistant, you will have support from your Team Leads, and Care Coordinators to complete safe administration of medication training and basic clinical observations skills, following full training and competencies sign off, you can develop into an enhanced career and help mentor and guide new colleagues as they begin their own careers in care.

Job Responsibilities

Development Pathways

As a Healthcare Assistant, you'll have the opportunity to progress to an Enhanced Healthcare Assistant role through our comprehensive training and competency programme.
This development pathway will enable you to:
  • Safely administer medication following competency assessments.
  • Carry out basic clinical observations and report concerns appropriately.
  • Lead by example, promoting high standards of person-centred care.
  • Support and mentor new colleagues during their induction and development.
  • Work alongside Team Leads to support the smooth running of each shift.
  • Build the knowledge and confidence needed to progress into senior care roles in the future.
Pay Scale - No Qualifications
  • £13:00 per hour
  • £16.25 per hour (Weekend Rate)
  • £26.00 per hour (Bank Holidays)
Pay Scale - Care Certificate or above qualification in care
  • £13.50 per hour
  • £16.88 per hour (weekends)
  • £27.00 per hour (bank holidays)
Pay Scale - Enhanced HCA
  • £13.90 per hour
  • £17.38 per hour (weekends)
  • £27.80 per hour (bank holidays)
