Job summary

A leading healthcare recruitment agency in Northern Ireland is seeking a personal care assistant to assist residents with daily living activities, including washing and mealtime support. Candidates should have relevant training and experience, as well as the ability to monitor residents effectively. This role offers a competitive salary between £12.50 and £24.00 per hour dependent on experience and flexibility in working hours.

Qualifications

• Have sound knowledge of current issues in care for elderly people.
• Have completed the basic mandatory training in adult care.
• Have a valid permit to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all daily living activities: washing, dressing, toileting, and assisting with meals.
• Closely monitor residents who may be confused and/or have behavioral problems.

Skills

Knowledge of current issues in care for elderly people

Flexibility and ability to work on initiative

Completion of basic mandatory training in adult care

Ability to pass Enhanced Access NI check

Further Information

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 months experience (this preferred but not essential) working with the elderly in a care or nursing home setting or studying for or attained a care related qualification.
