Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for a role within the Sexual Health Service across Derby city and County clinics. You will join a dynamic team focused on delivering high quality patient care and improving access to sexual health services.

The role involves assisting clinicians, maintaining a clean clinical area, chaperoning, taking blood and samples, and promoting health services.

Responsibilities

• Supporting clinicians within the clinics
• Caring for patients with empathy and compassion, including chaperoning, taking blood, microscopy, and assisting with samples and swabs
• Preparation and maintenance of a clean and safe clinical area
• Active promotion and signposting of sexual health and general health promotion services; flexible across Derby City and County clinics
• Understand patient needs and respond to a variety of clinical presentations
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care

Job description

The main duties of the role include the following, supporting the clinicians within the clinics . Caring for patients with empathy and compassion, including chaperoning, taking blood, Microscopy, supporting the patients with taking samples and swabs.

• Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of a clean and safe clinical area.
• To actively promote and signpost sexual health services and general health promotion services. As part of this post the expected to work flexibly work across Derby City and County clinics.
• Understand the patient need and respond accordingly by adapting to a variety of clinical presentations.
• Working effectively with a multidisciplinary team including doctors, nurses, HCA colleagues, Sexual Health Promotion and senior leaders to ensure safe and effective care.
  Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.

We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people's own homes and via virtual consultations.
