We are looking for a kind and caring person to work as a Health Care Assistant in a residential care home for adults with learning difficulties.

You will be part of a friendly team, helping adults with their daily routines, personal care, and activities they enjoy.

About The Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team at a residential care home supporting adults with learning disabilities. This is a rewarding role where you’ll make a real difference to the lives of our residents by providing high-quality, person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personal care in a respectful and dignified manner, in line with individual care plans
  • Support residents with daily living tasks, including washing, dressing, toileting, and mobility assistance
  • Undertake domestic duties such as cleaning and maintaining a safe, tidy environment
  • Provide emotional support and promote independence and wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to meet the needs of residents
  • Carry out overnight shifts as part of a rota, ensuring the safety and comfort of residents throughout the night
  • Record and report any changes in health or behaviour, following safeguarding and confidentiality procedures

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a care setting is essential.
  • A caring and patient nature, with a genuine desire to support others
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and bank holidays as required
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • An understanding of learning disabilities and a person-centred approach to care
  • Have knowledge of or a willingness to learn about medical procedures, personal care, or therapeutic approaches.
  • Have a proactive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Drive or be willing to use public transport.
