Job summary

Stanley House at Bosbury, Hereford, is part of Elysium Healthcare. This Healthcare Assistant role supports residents with complex needs in a hands‑on, long‑term, person‑centred environment.

You’ll join a multidisciplinary team delivering compassionate care, with training, development opportunities and a strong focus on wellbeing. The shift pattern is 12 hours a day, 3–4 days weekly (days/nights incl. alternate weekends), equating to about 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Experience with complex care settings and a flexible approach to care delivery.
• Experience or willingness to work with neurological conditions and challenging behaviours.
• Interest in palliative and end-of-life care and in multidisciplinary teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with complex neurological conditions and behavioural challenges, adapting approach as needs change.
• Assist with personal care including washing, dressing, shaving and continence support.
• Participate in ward rounds, observe behaviours and contribute to care planning.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and communicate with colleagues.
• Provide compassionate palliative and end-of-life care with dignity and family involvement.
• Encourage engagement in therapeutic activities and structured routines.
• Help residents enjoy meaningful experiences, including community outings and on-site events.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Healthcare Assistant at Stanley House, you will:

• Support residents with complex neurological conditions and behavioural challenges, adapting your approach to changing needs
• Assist with personal care, including washing, dressing, shaving, continence support and mealtime assistance
• Participate in ward rounds, observe behaviours and contribute to care planning
• Maintain accurate clinical records and communicate effectively with colleagues
• Provide compassionate palliative and end‑of‑life care, ensuring dignity, comfort and family involvement
• Encourage engagement in therapeutic activities such as physiotherapy, art therapy and structured routines
• Help residents enjoy meaningful experiences — from community outings to on‑site events and social activities
