Elysium Healthcare, based in Tendring, is seeking compassionate support workers to join their team at Asher House. You will assist men with learning disabilities, autism, and sensory impairments in their recovery journey.

Job description

What you will be doing

You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to men with learning disabilities, autism and sensory and communication impairments, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recovery pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.

Your day‑to‑day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you've made someone's life better.

The shift pattern is 12.5 hours a day, 3-4 days a week including nights and weekends.

Asher House is part of our Learning Disability and Autism division and is a registered care service with nursing which embraces and balances the management of risk with comfort, homeliness, dignity, respect and choice. The service is for men with learning disabilities, autism and sensory and communication impairments. We are specialists in working with complex needs and behaviours which challenge services.
