Elysium Healthcare is recruiting a Healthcare Assistant for Victoria Gardens in Huyton. You will join a supportive team delivering care to residents with complex mental health needs, helping them on their recovery pathway and supporting daily living activities.

The role involves ward rounds, recording patient updates, personal care, and working within a 12.5-hour shift structure across 3–4 days per week, including nights and weekends. Training and development opportunities are provided.

What you will be doing

You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with complex mental health needs and behaviours that challenge conditions, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recover pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.

Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you've made someone's life better.

The shift pattern is 12.5 hours a day, 3-4 days a week including nights and weekends.

Where you will be working

Location: Victoria Road, Huyton, Liverpool, L36 5SA

Our will be working at Victoria Gardens, a specialist locked rehabilitation for people with complex mental health needs and behaviours that challenge, as well as a ward for older females. You will support the service to equip service users with the skills required for community living and increased independence.

The service is a recovery-based service and incorporates elements of the Good Lives Model, supported by individualised interventions. You will work as part of the multidisciplinary team which includes Nursing, Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist and Social Worker support.
