Healthcare Assistant

Protocol Education is currently seeking an Educational Health Care Assistant to join a local school in Redbridge. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and experienced in supporting students with education, health, medical, physical, and general care needs, following agreed Education and Health Care plans. Responsibilities include attending to pupils' personal needs such as toileting, hygiene, dressing, and feeding, as well as physically assisting pupils in activities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Implement behaviour modification interventions tailored to issues raised by pastoral staff and/or subject teachers, focusing on students with emotional or mental health needs.
2. Support the holistic progress of individuals and small groups by facilitating emotional and behavioural support using various intervention strategies.
3. Deliver programmes of intervention related to mental and emotional health, self-esteem, anger management, and self-awareness to groups and individuals.
4. Assist students in improving punctuality, attendance, and support their return to school after prolonged absences.
5. Work under the guidance of the SENCO, teaching, and senior staff to implement agreed interventions and programmes.
6. Collaborate with individuals and groups of students, considering prior information, current behavioural issues, academic levels, and reasons for referral from the appropriate Head of Year.
7. Create a calm, productive atmosphere with minimal disturbance and confrontation, applying the school's expectations assertively and fairly.

• Child workforce only DBS on the Update Service

Pay rates are inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with potential for permanence in some cases.
