SAU and Surgical Same Day Emergency Care: 2 Full Time vacancies working over a 24hour roster, variety of shifts.
Ward 22: 2 Full Time vacancies working over a 24hour roster, must be flexible to work days and nights.
Pain Team: 24 hrs per week, must be flexible to work over the week as service demands.

We provide a range of services including urgent and emergency care; medical; surgical; maternity; gynaecology; critical care; children\'s and young people\'s services; end of life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services.
We provide community health services, including sexual health services in Calderdale from Calderdale Royal and local health centres. These include Todmorden Health Centre and Broad Street Plaza.

SAU and Surgical Same Day Emergency Care offer the opportunity to work across two areas alongside an excellent team who strive to provide the highest standard of care. SAU is a 28 bedded area and you would support the Registered Nurse to care for a group of patients from a range of specialities. SSDEC provides emergency care to surgical and urology patients from ED or GP. You will be expected to fulfil the role of a HCA and progress to additional skills which include venepuncture and cannulation, ECGs and link nurse roles. Pain Clinic, as a HCA you play a vital role in supporting patients throughout their pain management journey. Working collaboratively with our nursing and administrative teams, you provide essential clinical and clerical support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the clinic. Ward 22 care for post surgery patients, and those who have stepped down from ICU and patients from surgical assessment who require ward based care.
You will be expected to take observations and escalate concerns, to work as a team, to be involved as a link person. Follow the trusts goals, visions and values, and to be motivated and kind, to not only your team, but to the patients and their relatives to ensure an inclusive environment for all. Act as a chaperone for procedures and examinations, to empty stomas, drains and catheters and record these on EPR. To support your nursing team, and other health professionals that frequent the ward, such as dieticians, physiotherapists, specialist nurses, Drs, discharge co Ordinator etc. Your role will involve all cares of the patients, personal care, oral care and toileting. You will learn lots of skills and we endeavour to support you in your own goals and interests, so you feel valued within your role
