Job summary

SkyCare Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to support residents with daily living activities, maintain dignity, and promote comfort in a person-centred care environment.

Under supervision of the Registered Manager, you will assist with washing, dressing, meals, and mobility, ensuring safety, following care plans, and documenting notes. DBS checks, right to work in the UK, and a compassionate approach are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is preferred, not mandatory.
• Experience of at least 6 months as a Care Assistant is welcome.
• Must be over 18 to apply.
• You will provide high-quality, person-centred care and maintain residents’ dignity.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities (washing, toileting, dressing).
• Support residents during meals and at visit times, with attention to swallowing, dietary needs, and comfort.
• Observe care planning needs and document daily records per policy.
• Answer calls, door, and phone promptly; welcome visitors; maintain a clean, tidy environment.

Job description

o Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting People in our Care, when required, with washing, toileting, dressing, undressing, and all other aspects of daily living. o Assist People in all aspects of their care needs (e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual). Provide attention when needed, whilst ensuring People retain their comfort and dignity. o Pay particular attention to assisting People who have limited mobility, or physical / learning difficulties, making the best use of aids provided. o Closely monitor People who may be confused and / or who have behavioural problems. o Assist in the promotion of continence. o Assist in the delivery of care for People who are dying or who have a progressive illness. Assist with last offices. o Observe care planning needs for People and complete written daily records as instructed and in line with the Company's policies and procedures. o Answer Nursecall system, giving assistance as required. Answer the door and telephone appropriately. Respond accordingly, and pass on messages promptly. o Make Visitors feel welcome. Provide refreshments/assistance as and when required. o Make and change beds, ensuring that rooms are clean and tidy, and commodes are empty, in line with the Care Home's disposal of waste policy. o Assist People who need help during meal times (be aware of swallowing difficulties, dietary requirements etc). Assist with serving of food / drinks as requested / required. Set and clear tables and trays. Wash up as requested / required. About Nursing Home: Care Centre provides residential and nursing care for up to 160 residents requiring general nursing needs and end of life care. The home can care for those living with dementia, younger adults with physical disabilities and mental health needs.
